City of Derry Rugby Club captain Stacey Lee Kennedy is set to play a pivotal role in Ireland’s bid to retain the Women’s Six Nations Championship against France tonight.

The 27-year-old prop forward was part of the all-conquering Irish team which captured last season’s Grand Slam.

Ireland go into tonight’s clash, being played in the city of Pau in south west France, two points behind France who need only a draw to clinch the title. Kick-off is 7.30pm.

Stacey Lee – named Derry’s Female Sports Personality of the Year last month – earned her first cap when she came on as a substitute in the 74th minute of Ireland’s opening Six Nations game against Italy in Rovigo on 6 February, 2010.
