The eponymous David Craig Band will top the bill at Burt’s big Bank Holiday charity dance when they will be joined by Ballinascreen internet sensations Country Jivers.

Delighted co-organiser, Gerard Callaghan, said both acts were sure to have revellers dancing, well into the wee small hours of the morning.

He said: “David Craig is a talented young country singer-songwriter who hails from Inch Island. He enjoyed great success with his first album, ‘It’s Good To See You’ and is currently putting the finishing touches to his second, which is due for release this summer.

“I am really pleased that the David Craig Band will be entertaining us in An Grianán Hotel on Sunday, 16 March.

“Country Jivers are also hotfooting it to Burt, to help us fundraise for two very deserving Donegal charities, the Oncology Unit of Letterkenny General Hospital and the White Oaks Centre.

“With almost 19,000 YouTube hits, brother and sister, Sean and Mairead Woods and their friends Dale Robinson and Tammy Love have fused country music with rock and roll. The result is a unique style of dancing, whose popularity is sweeping Ireland,” smiled Gerard.

Praising the work done at White Oaks, Mr Callaghan said it had established itself as a premier rehabilitation facility.

He said: “White Oaks does outstanding work helping people to address the complex issues involved in dependency on alcohol, drugs and gambling. It provides a peaceful, therapeutic environment, where addicts and their families may safely confront the impact addiction is having on their lives and find a spiritual way to develop the skills within themselves to turn their lives around.

“In addition, there can hardly be a family in Inishowen which has not experienced the outstanding care and treatment offered by the Oncology Unit of Letterkenny General Hospital. That is why we have chosen it as our second charity.

“Burt’s big bank holiday charity dance begins at 10.00pm, with dancing till late. Admission is 10 euro and can be paid at the door,” added Gerard.
