The theme of General Stan McChrystal’s talk on 7 March will be leadership and how good leadership can make the key difference to any organisation.

Since retiring from his very senior role in the US military, General McChrystal has taken a number of leadership positions.

He is a senior fellow at Yale University’s Jackson Institute for Global Affairs, where he teaches a course on “leadership.”

He is the founder and partner of consultancy firm the McChrystal Group and a board member of several major companies, including Siemens Government Systems, where is chairman.

He is also a lead consultant for Seagate, one of Derry’s largest employers.

Philip Gilliland, Chamber president it was a “remarkable achievement” for the Chamber to attract one of the world’s foremost leadership experts to address the annual event.

He added: “This is a further sign that even after the completion of City of Culture year, Derry continues to punch well above its weight”.

Mr Gilliland concluded: “This event is a real one-off and is bound to sell-out quickly. I would urge Chamber members to book their tickets early before they all go.”
