FLOODED TRACK CURTAILS TONIGHT’S GREYHOUND RACING AT BRANDYWELL

Only seven of the races down for decision at Brandywell went ahead tonight after a flooded track forced the final race to be abandoned.Irish Derby Greyhound Racing 9/9/2006

Of the races that did go ahead, Glenowen Dan hit the jackpot in winning the Last Chance Lotto Final run over 500 yards..

The Eamon Feeney owned and trained 2/1 favourite had a length and half to spare from second-placed Pretty Jockey, owned and trained by Michael Feeney, winning in a time of 29.24 seconds.

Tonight’s results were:

Race 1 (300 yards): 1, No Garlic 1/2 fav; 2, Over the Line 4/1. Time: 17.32. Distance: 3 lengths.

Race 2 (300 yards): 1, Crash the Party 2/1 fav; 2, Masada Black 5/2. Time: 17.54. Distance: 3 lengths.

Race 3 (500 yards): 1, Backdoor Bucko 2/1; 2, Sniper Cursillo 3/1. Time: 29.16. Distance: 2.5 lengths.

Race 4 Lotto 500 Managers Select 1st semi-final (500 yards): 1, Keady Brae Dan 4/1; 2, Belgrave Abi 6/4. Time: 28.82. Distance: a length.

Race 5 Lotto 500 Managers Select 2nd semi-final (500 yards): 1, Counterfit 3/1; 2, Miss Lucille 3/1. Time: 28.96. Distance: 7 lengths.

Race 6 Last Chance Lotto Final (500 yards): 1, Glenowen Dan 2/1 fav; 2, Pretty Jockey 5/2. Time: 29.24. Distance: 1.5 lengths.

Race 7 (500 yards): 1, Holdem Texas 5/2; 2, Choctaw Joe 2/1 fav. Time: 29.36. Distance: half a length.

Race 8 – abandoned.
