Several thousand people have taken part in the annual March for Justice in Derry to commemorate the 42nd anniversary of Bloody Sunday.
The parade, which followed the route of the original march from Central Drive in Creggan to Free Derry Corner in the Bogside, was headed by members of some of the families of those killed as well as a number of those injured, who walked behind a banner entitled: “Justice: It Concerns All of Us.”
At a rally held at Free Derry Corner guest speaker, Stafford Scott, from the Mark Duggan campaign group in London, said the fight for justice by the Bloody Sunday relatives had inspired other groups across the world.
Mr. Scott said: “Without justice there would be no peace.”
The rally was chaired by Bernadette McAliskey who called on PSNI detectives investigating the Bloody Sunday killings to begin the interview process with the British soldiers involved.
The names of those killed and injured, were read by Damien Donaghy, one of the wounded.
The rally dispersed peacefully following a minute’s silence and the playing of the National Anthem by the Parkhead Republican Flute Band from Scotland.
