Thousands are expected to take part in the “Bloody Sunday March for Justice” taking place in Derry this afternoon to mark the 42nd anniversary the 1972 massacre.
The march will leave Central Drive in Creggan at 2.30pm and follow the route of the original parade to Free Derry Corner in the Bogside for a rally to be addressed by Stafford Scott who will give an insight into the events surrounding the controversial killing of Mark Duggan in London in 2011.
Meanwhile, events marking the 42nd anniversary of Bloody Sunday will come to a close tonight with a social evening entitled “When the Lousy War is Over” in Sandino’s Cafe Bar.
Described as “an evening of commemoration and critical reflection” on the centenary of the First World War, it will feature poetry and song from Connor Kelly, Technopeasant, Abby Olievers and local singer-songwriter Paddy Nash.
