Sinn Fein MLA Michaela Boyle.

The West Tyrone Sinn Fein representative said: “In recent weeks I have been in contact with local parents and educationalists in the Strabane area on the need for a dedicated ASD Unit in Strabane. There is no doubt that there is a growing awareness of the needs of children and families who are directly involved .

“In the forthcoming weeks I will be working with local parents and schools in order to ascertain the type of facility required and will have discussions with the Department of Education to push for the establishment of an ASD Unit.”

Mrs Boyle concluded: “I look forward to taking this important piece of work through the Assembly and working with the stakeholders involved.”
