NOMINATIONS FOR DERRY DISTRICT SPORTS COUNCIL AWARDS CLOSE TOMORROW

Nominations for the  2013 Derry District Sports Council Awards close tomorrow.

Twenty awards are up for grabs and Michael Hutton, Sports Council chairperson, has reminded anyone thinking of nomination someone that they had only one day left.

The awards, being staged this year on Friday 21 February next, are held annually to honour the sporting achievements in the city

has appealed to all those involved in sport in the city to “get right behind” the awards ceremony which will take place on Friday 21 February next.

The awards acknowledge the effort, commitment and achievements of many athletes  – ranging from age ten to senior citizen – as well as the contribution of coaches, team managers, mentors, physios and administrators.

Nomination forms can be obtained from Karen Dillon, Derry City Council Development Office telephone 028  71365151 and all nominations must be returned by 12 noon tomorrow.
