Sandra Duffy.

Sinn Féin candidate for the Shantallow area in the upcoming local government election, Sandra Duffy, has welcomed the news that DRD Road Service will implement the schemes within the next few months.

Ms said: “Over the past 12 months Sinn Féin have been calling on DRD Road Service to carry out some traffic assessment at Ardnamoyle Park and Liscloon Drive on behalf of the residents who live there.

“DRD Road Service have now confirmed that they will carried out traffic calming in those areas and that they will consult with residents on what type of measures that will be put in place.”

Ms Mullan concluded: “The lower end of Ardnamoyle Park at the bend beside Old School Lane will also be looked at, as many residents have complained to us over the years that there needs to be some kind of calming measures there.”

The measures being installed will provide a degree of reassurance for parents of children who live there and again I welcome this work by the Road Services and if anybody has any concerns i can be contacted at the Sinn Féin constituency office on the Racecourse Road.
