The Department of Social Development is extending its Restore Project which has already been to a number of streets across the city, including Waterloo Street and Duke Street.

Sinn Féin Waterside Councillor Bridget Meehan  is backing backing  the restoration plans which will see shops in the  Top of the Hill at the end of Strabane Old Road receive £15,000 for basic upgrades in the form of painting, internal shuttering, repairs to doors and windows and signage.

Cllr Meehan said: “The project is at the proposal stage with details still under discussion.  However, it will go ahead soon and I would encourage the local traders to collaborate with the local community workers in Top of the Hill who are working hard to ensure that the project is delivered.”
