The vehicle, a grey Ford Mondeo, registration NL60 FMM, was taken from Knockbrack Park in the Altnagelvin area area at around 2.30am and found crashed and abandoned on the Buncrana Road just after 4.00am.

Detectives are keen to hear from anyone who saw the car and have asked anyone with information to contact them on 0845 600 8000 or a member of their local Neighbourhood Team directly – details of which can be found on the PSNI website.

Alternatively, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.
