The victim of the sickening assault, Donna Hawkins, has appealed to women here to vigilant fearful he may strike again.

Donna suffered horrific injuries in the attack during which she was sexually assaulted, suffered a fractured cheekbone, broken nose and cuts and bruises.

The 51-year-old told the Irish Sun she still has nightmares since the sickening incident which occurred in November last.

She said one of the attackers was believed to be hiding out in the North West, possibly Donegal.

She added: “If that’s the case I would appeal to women in that area to remain vigilant, so long as this man is out there every woman is in serious danger.

A source in the Gardai, who have been made aware of the suspect’s possible location, said detectives were aware he may be “living in the North West.”

He source added: “He hasn’t been charged with anything yet but Gardai are liaising with the PSNI.”
