A new initiative is being introduced in Derry aimed at bringing live Friday night music to the city’s cafes, restaurants, hotels, bars and retail outlets.

The initiative is a direct result of the successful music events held throughout Derry’s year as City of Culture.
All evening time venues are being encouraged to get involved with musicians and premise owners able to register at www.firstbreak.co.

He said: “This is fantastic idea emanating out of what has been a truly remarkable year.
“The private sector have taken a lead in this idea and allied with marketing support from Derry City Council’s Business Opportunities Programme and First Break.co it will hopefully begin a culture of early Friday evening music throughout the city centre.”
