One person, believed to be male, has been rescued from the River Foyle in Derry tonight.
The man was located after Foyle Search and Rescue was tasked twice following reports of two missing persons.
The first missing person was found safe and the search for the second missing male was stood down after nothing was found.
A spokesperson for Foyle Search and Rescue (FS&R) said there was “no indication” there was anyone in the river.
The spokesperson added: “We are assisting the PSNI in their enquiries.”
The search, which involved the Sligo-based Irish Coast Guard helicopter, was centred on the river in the Meadowbank area.
The FS&R spokesperson said: “We would like to say thanks to Sligo Rescue 118 in the assistance in the search.”
