SDLP Foyleside Councillor Lilian Seenoi-Barr

SDLP Foyleside Councillor Lilian Seenoi Barr has welcomed progress towards the creation of a playpark at Ringfort Road.

It comes after Council officers confirmed that work will intensify in the coming weeks to develop detailed designs for the proposed new playpark at Ringfort Road.

The designs will be displayed in the Hazelbank and Ballymagroarty communities for feedback in the coming weeks.

Cllr Barr said: “I am delighted to see progress on this important project and I know the whole community will look forward to seeing the playpark at Ringfort Road finally come to fruition.

“We have been working on this for a number of years and pushing to see some change advanced.

“Families throughout Hazelbank and Ballymagroarty are rightly frustrated with the current dilapidated park and they deserve to see this new provision advanced as soon as possible for the benefit of everyone.

“This park will also complement the proposed new community facilities at the Ringfort Road, improving the quality of life across the area.

“I am looking forward to local residents being able to have their say on the designs in the coming weeks and would encourage everyone to contribute to the upcoming consultations.”
