Elaine Cuthbert, principal of Culmore Primary School in Derry has been “sincerely” congratulated by SDLP Cllr Angela Dobbins on receiving an MBE in the New Year’s Honours List.
Cllr Dobbins said the award was “fully deserved” for the “sterling work” carried out by Ms Cuthbert as principal of the school.
Ms Cuthbert was awarded the MBE for services to education in Northern Ireland.
She is one of four recipients of the award from Derry.
The others are:
Veterinary surgeon Edward Campbell for services to animal welfare and to the community in Derry;
Catherine Glass, trauma and orthopaedics manager at Altnagelvin Hospital, for services to health care;
Mary O’Kane, proprietor of Beech Hill Country House Hotel, for services to tourism and hospitality in Northern Ireland.
