“THE PRIESTS” BRING CURTAIN DOWN ON DERRY’S YEAR AS CITY OF CULTURE

The curtain was brought down on Derry’s year as City of Culture at a special “reflection service”  held in St Eugene’s Cathedral this afternoon.

Hosted by the city’s Mayor Cllr Martin Reilly the Ceremony of Thanksgiving featured a special appearance by tenor trio “The Priests.”

Cllr Reilly said the ceremony offered the opportunity to back at the events of  City of Culture year and acknowledge the “tremendous work, efforts made and benefits” gained during the past year.

There ceremony included a “spiritual reflection” at 4.11pm – sunset.

Speaking ahead of the event, he said: “This is a poignant time to reflect and reminisce on the year that has been, give thanks to all and look forward to a positive future for the city.”
