The 17 and 19 year olds were arrested by police in Strabane following the theft of a white coloured Citroen Xsara from Primity Crescent at around 2.00am on Sunday 15 December.

The vehicle was involved in a road traffic accident on Berryhill Road in Donemana at around 4.30am the same morning.

A passing female motorist gave the two occupants of the car a lift to Strabane where it is it is believed they took a taxi back to Newbuildings.

Police have appealed to anyone with any information about the incident to contact them at Strabane Police Station on 0845 600 8000.

They are particularly keen to speak to the female motorist who gave the men a lift to Strabane or the taxi driver who took a fare to Newbuildings on the morning of 15 December.

Alternatively, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.
