Former Northern Ireland First Minister Ian Paisley has been admitted to hospital.

In a statement, the former DUP leader’s family said he was admitted yesterday for “necessary tests” and asked that his privacy be respected.
The statement added there would be “no further comment at this time.”
The 87-year-old is being treated in the Ulster Hospital in Dundonald where he was admitted in February last year after suffering heart problems.
