The 81-year-old man who died after he became trapped under the tractor he was driving yesterday has been named as William Mehaffey, from Donemana in Co Tyrone.
Mr Mehaffey was driving a blue New Holland tractor when the accident happened on the Dunnyboe Road at 12:30pm.
Fire crews from Strabane and Omagh used airmats and lifting gear to release the 81 year old who had become trapped under the tractor.
Mr Mehaffey was pronounced dead at the scene.
No other vehicles were involved and the Dunnyboe Road, which was closed for a period of time following the accident, has been reopened.
Police have appealed for anyone who saw the incident or was on the Dunnyboe Road at the time to contact them on 0845 600 8000.
