Nearly 800 runners turned out for the 28th annual running of the prestigious event set in the foothills  of the snow covered Sperrin Mountains.

In excellent running conditions, pre-race favourite Stephen Scullion (Clonliffe Harriers) led from start to finish, taking the tape in 25.09 with Shiels in second spot in 26.10.

Recently crowned Northern Ireland and Ulster Novice Cross Country champion Conan McCaughey (Enniskillen Running Club) claimed third place in 26:40.

In the ladies race, well-respected Irish Olympian Maria McCambridge (Letterkenny AC) showed her class to win in 28:25.
