LARGE TURNOUT EXPECTED AT GRANSHA FOR N.W. CROSSCOUNTRY

The North West Cross Country meeting takes place at the Gransha grounds on the outskirts of Derry tomorrow.north-west-cross-country-championship-start

The annual event traditionally attracts a large turnout and tomorrow is expected to be no different with races in the underage, senior and masters taking place.

The under-12 1k will get things under way at 11.45am followed by the under-13 2k and under-16 3k. Entries (£1.50) will be accepted from 10.30am at the U3A Foyle building at Gransha.

Under-18s, under-20s, senior and master athletes (male and female) will compete in the day’s feature race, the Open 6k, which will get under way at 12.30pm.

Most of the North West’s top men’s and ladies runners, including members of Foyle Valley and City of Derry Spartans, are expected to turn out in force.

Entry fee for the Open is £6 and will as be accepted from 10.30am from the U3A Building.
