The PSNI in the city have only released details of the incident which occurred in the Bligh’s Lane area at around 1.2oam on 25 November last.

After he was assaulted, the man was hit by a black Volkswagen Passat carrying the five men involved in the attack.

The man was not seriously injured.

A PSNI spokesperson asked anyone who was in the area and could further help police with their enquiries to telephone 0845 600 8000.

Alternatively, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they could  contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.
