“A YEAR IN A NIGHT” CELEBRATES DERRY’S YEAR AS CITY OF CULTURE

Presenters Marie-Louise Muir and Mark Patterson with guests who appeared in “A Year in a Night,” concert celebrating Derry’s year as City of Culture which was broadcast live on BBC Radio Ulster/Foyle last night.

Under the award-winning musical direction of Frank Gallagher, the line-up included: Soak, Little Bear, The Clameens, pianist Ruth McGinley, tenor John Porter, The Music Promise Choir, City of Culture’s Musician in Residence Neil Cowley and a special meeting of traditions as Tattoo and Fleadh musicians combine.

Other special guests included Gino Lupari, actress Nuala Hayes and Derry’s own Anita Robinson.

The concert also featured a special moment of reflection on the passing of Poet Laureate Seamus Heaney.
