Derry City Council has issued a “final call” to schools, community groups, choirs or a “star in the making” wishing to showcase their talent on the band stand of the Christmas Market which will run from 10 – 21 December.CHRISTMASMARKET

The market will be held each day in Guildhall Square from 10.00am to 9.00pm  and Liz Cunningham, of Derry City Council, said it was a “great opportunity” to join in the festive celebrations.

She added: “It is a time when the city is at its best. The last few weeks the city has been a hive of activity, and there is no doubt we will see a new influx of people visiting the city as the festive lights and Festival of Trees are fully illuminated and the shopping season has begun.”

She added as Derry prepared to see out its amazing year as 2013 City of Culture, it was a great time to get involved.

She added: “What better way than to showcase your talent, than in the dynamic Christmas market, at the busiest time of the year.”

Spaces are limited, if interested contact Liz Cunningham on (028) 71365151 or email [email protected].
