Senior hurling and football captains, Ruairi Convery and Mark Lynch, were joined other senior players and management at the launch held last night O’Neill’s Sports Store in Magherafelt.

The latest has been unveiled at the end of a year which marked the 125th anniversary of the formation of the GAA in the county.

Speaking at the launch, county chairperson John Keenan looked forward to the incoming year, urged supporters and players to wear the new jersey “with pride.”

Mr Keenan said: “Working with all stakeholders including our players, officials, O’Neill’s and our team sponsors, Specialist Joinery Group, we are happy to present our new look for 2014 and are confident that this will be a big success with our supporters.

“I would urge supporters and players alike to wear the new jersey with pride as we enter the coming year.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank Kieran Kennedy and all the staff at O’Neill’s Sportswear for their help and continued support of Gaelic games in our county. We are delighted with the continued support of our team sponsors Specialist Joinery Group and look forward to another mutually beneficial season.

“Specialist Joinery Group operate on a global basis and are an inspirational story of success within our local manufacturing and construction industry. We are proud to be associated with such a family-based company led by managing director John Bosco O’Hagan; for many years part of the wider GAA family within Derry. We wish them continued success throughout 2014 and beyond.”

Managing director of Specialist Joinery Group, John Bosco O’Hagan, said the company’s strategic partnership with Derry to date had been very successful and they looked forward to continuing this over the coming months.

He added: “We congratulate O’Neills and Derry GAA on the launch of this tremendous new jersey design and we take this opportunity to wish Derry – The Oak Leaf County – every success for the season ahead.”
