DERRY FIRST-AIDER NAMED ST JOHN AMBULANCE “CADET OF THE YEAR”

A young Derry first-aider has been awarded the prestigious title of  “Young Cadet of the Year 2013” from the St John Ambulance.st__john_ambulance_vector_logo_by_sudoball-d3g2k2k

Niall Harkin, a Year 14 student at St Columb’s College, attended the St John Ambulance Young Achievers’ Reception in central London at which he was was presented with his award by Princess Anne who complemented him on the excellent work that had carried out for the St John Ambulance in Northern Ireland.

Niall and a small group of his fellow cadets also recently won the right to compete against cadets from other disciplines in a UK wide first aid challenge to be held later this month.
