News that Princess Street in Derry is to be resurfaced and a gas supply provided to homes in the area has been welcomed by Sinn Fein Cllr. Mickey Cooper.
Describing the confirmation as “great news,” Cllr Cooper said the installation of a gas main would allow residents to connect to a permanent gas supply.
He added: “It is especially welcome given fact that access to many of the homes in the area by oil tankers was literally impossible due to make up of these historic streets.
“The installation is a direct result of a residents survey I undertook in the area which proved to Firmus Energy that there was huge demand for a gas supply.”
Cllr CoopI also welcome the news from DRD Road Service that they will resurface the street ,something which I have been lobbying for now for several years.
