ENTRIES OPEN ON MONDAY FOR 2014 WALLED CITY MARATHON

Entries will open on Monday next for next year’s SSE Walled City Marathon, details of which have been released.

The route for next year’s Walled City Marathon.

The 26.2 mile event is to take place in and around Derry on Sunday 1 June and is expected to attract athletes from Ireland, Britain and across the world as well as a large contingent of local runners.

The race will set off at 8.30am from the Everglades Hotel on Prehen Road in the Waterside and take in Craigavon Bridge and the Peace Bridge and will, as last year, include the gruelling Fahan Street climb before finishing in Guildhall Square.

In addition to the 26.2 mile race, there will be a one mile “mini marathon” for children.

Online entries will open at 9.00am on Monday next, 11 November.

Entry fee is £36 or 42 euro – for hard copy entry entries only – Hard copies available from 9.00pm at the Foyle Hospice, also on Monday.
