“TAKE OVER” TRAFFIC AND TRAVEL INFORMATION

Derry City Council has issued the following information for ticket holders attending tomorrow’s Take Over Festival being headlined by Professor Green and DJ Fresh.

All tickets have been issued and no more tickets will be available on the day for the event taking place at The Venue at Ebrington.

Gates will be open from 10.00am and the event will end at approximately 6.00pm with activities starting at 11.30am.

Ticket holders are advised that the gates will close at 1.00pm and they may not be permitted access to The Venue after this time.

Event-goers will be able to access The Venue 2013 via two gates:

Gate 1 is accessed from Ebrington Square via the Peace Bridge.

Gate 2 is accessed from St Columb’s Road (off Limavady Road).

Event goers are asked to co-operate with the event stewards and security staff who will be present on the day to ensure everyone’s safety.

The organisers do not anticipate any issues with traffic and travel to the event and the Peace Bridge will be open as normal to facilitate those attending the event.

However, the public are strongly advised to use public transport systems and walk to the event where possible to minimise traffic congestion.

Parents are advised that there is a designated drop-off and pick-up zone through the Millennium (top) gate on St Columb’s Road for cars.   This is for drop-offs and pick-ups onlyThere will be no car parking permitted on the Limavady Road, Foyle Fold or St Columb’s Road.

Car users are asked to use public parking and city centre car parks where possible and to access The Venue on foot via the Peace Bridge and Ebrington Square.  There will be no park n stride facilities in operation.

There is onsite car parking for disabled users only which should be pre-booked, car registrations should be given to the event staff in advance of the Take Over event.
