Police in Strabane are requesting that the public, particularly in the Castlederg and Newtownstewart areas be vigilant with regard to a small white van, which has “Dog Control’ written on it.
A PSNI spokesperson said police were concerned calls at houses by this vehicle may not be genuine.
The spokesperson said: “We are still looking into this, but we would urge the public to satisfy themselves as to the identity of anyone who should call with them about dogs. A genuine dog warden will have all the necessary identification with him.
