Professor Green and DJ Fresh (with Messy MC) are to headline the one-day day multi arts “Take Over” festival to be staged at The Venue, Ebrington on  Saturday, 2 November next.

Hosted by Phil Taggart (BBC Radio 1), the day will be packed full of music, comedy, dance and showcasing opportunities, in what promises to be one of the biggest youth culture events of the year.

Free tickets (one person) will be available from 10.00 tomorrow at three venues – trhe Venue, Strule Arts Centre (Omagh) and the Alley Arts Theatre (Strabane).

Organisers said the event would be one of the highlights of the City of Culture programme.

A spokesperson said:  “Having Professor Green and DJ Fresh headlining the event is amazing and we know that their performances will make the ‘Take Over’ festival the must see event of the year for young people.”

Professor Green firmly established himself as one of the UK’s most exciting new talents around when his debut album “Alive Till I’m Dead” crashed into the charts at No.2 in July 2010.

DJ Fresh has sold nearly two million records worldwide, with two UK No.1 singles and is currently riding high in the charts with his newest release “Earthquake featuring Diplo.”

The event is specifically for young people aged between 12 years and under 18 from the Derry, Strabane and Omagh council areas.

The spokesperson explained due to the huge interest in the event it had been decided to limit tickets to one per person.

Tickets will be distributed at all three venues on a first come, first served basis and those intending to queue for tickets are advised to be there before 10.00am.

The spokesperson added: “Once the tickets are gone, that’s it – we won’t have any additional tickets to give out except for one or two in local radio competitions. We would encourage anyone interested in attending the event come along for tickets tomorrow and to be here early to avoid disappointment. I would also encourage them to co-operate fully with the stewards and to be mindful that we only have a small number of tickets available and will be unable to provide tickets to everyone.”
