PSNI BADGETHE PSNI in Derry are helping Gardaí in their hunt for a paedophile suspect behind an attempt to abduct children in Bridgend.

Officers on both sides of the Border fear the pervert will attempt to strike again.

Today Gardaí in Letterkenny revealed that the suspect has now also targeted children in the town.

It follows a similar incident in Buncrana a week ago following the incident in Bridgend.

Local Gardai at Letterkenny have issued a warning to parents of small and teenage children following a number of reports of approaches to children.

Garda Crime Prevention Officer Sergeant Paul Wallace told Derry Daily’s sister news site Donegal Daily: “We have had a number of reports of approaches to children by male persons driving cars particularly in the Inishowen area but also in Letterkenny.

“These individuals have stopped with children and asked for directions, offered sweets etc, the common thread so far has been the descriptions of the cars as being silver, light blue with the makes described as a ford focus or Audi.”

It’s understood PSNI and Garda officers are examining CCTV footage in an effort to identify the suspected paedophile and his car.
