The Derry GAA minor football management is requesting clubs to nominate players in their final school year for the 2014 trials taking place this weekend.derrygaa

The minor management said it was “very important”  clubs contacted the players to ensure they willing to represent the minors in next year’s championships if selected.

A management spokesperson said: “We want players who want to wear the Derry jersey so the onus is on the club to make sure contact is made before submitting for trial.”

The spokesperson added: “It is also important that only final year minors are selected at this point.  Next year’s 17 year olds are currently in a gym programme and their trialing process will be explained to them in full during their gym programme in Owenbeg.”

Clubs are asked to forward  names, club, date of birth and preferred position to [email protected] by this Thursday, 10 October.

Saturday’s trials will take place at 11..am at Ballinascreen.  All players must be there at 10.30am.
