Police in Derry are trying to identify a group of males wearing band uniforms following an incident in which a car was damaged in the Waterside area of the city in the early hours of Saturday morning last.

A police spokesperson said the vehicle sustained damage after a barrier was thrown as it passed a car wash wash on the Limavady Road between 1.30am and 2.15am on.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact police on 0845 600 8000 or a member of your local Neighbourhood Team directly – details can be found on the PSNI website.

Alternatively, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.

The incident occurred hours after a loyalist band parade in the area had passed off peacefully.

Around 15 bands, from as far away as Limavady, took part in the parade.

Hosted by the local Caw Flute Band, the bands paraded in the streets in and around the Caw and Nelson Drive areas.
