STRABANE NEWS: HIT AND RUN INFO SOUGHT BY POLICE

Police in Strabane are appealing for witnesses to what they describe  as a “hit and run road traffic accident in the Donemana area yesterday afternoon.Van torced

The incident occurred at around 1.00pm when a black Ford Fiesta was damaged by an Audi which failed to remain at the scene.

A PSNI spokesperson said:  “The Fiesta was being driven along Duncastle Road from Mountcastle to Donemana when the female driver saw a blue Audi A4 coming towards her on her side of the road. She sounded her horn and the Audi swerved back to its own side, colliding with the Fiesta and damaging the wing mirror. The driver of the Audi did not stop but continued on his or her journey.

The spokesperson said anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information about should contact Strabane police on 0845 600 8000.

The spokesperson added: “Alternatively, information may be passed on anonymously via the Crimestoppers number 0800 555 111.”
