HUNT FOR TWO MEN AFTER VAN TORCHED

Police in Derry are investigating an incident in which a van was set alight in the Academy Road area of the city.

The PSNI are hunting two men.

The PSNI are hunting two men.

The PSNI want to trace two men who were in the van and who, after they could not get it started, set it on fire before fleeing the scene.

A police spokesman said the incident occurred just before 3.00am on Friday last and appealed for anyone with information to come forward.

The spokesman said: “Anyone with any information about this incident is asked to contact Strand Road Police Station on 0845 600 8000.

“Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
