THE PSNI are urging drivers not to drink and get behind the wheel of a car over the Easter holiday period.
And they are encouraging anyone with information about drink drivers to report them to police immediately to prevent any further casualties on the road.
In a post on its Facebook page, PSNI Foyle say: “You’ll get smashed if you drink and drive. And we will poach your licence and your independence.
“Drink driving – We’re cracking down on it….
Every day across Northern Ireland we arrest those who continue to drink and drive.
“Drink and drug impaired driving is still one of the main causes of persons being killed or seriously injured on our roads.
“During our Winter Drink Drive operation, we arrested 396 people for drink driving.
“Do not become one of our statistics.
“Please report those who disregard their own safety and others and help us keep people safe on our roads..”
