POLICE in Derry have charged a 23 year old man with a number of drugs related offences.
He is due to appear at Derry Magistrates’ Court today, Monday, January 25.
As is normal procedure the charges are reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
It is understood the charges relate to the search of a house in the Creggan area on Friday.
The PSNI said that just after 1pm on Friday, officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Team carried out a proactive search in the Creggan area.
The searched revealed £3,700 worth of suspected cannabis.
The police said: “The 23 year old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a class B controlled drug, possession of a class B controlled drug with intent to supply and being concerned in the supply of a class B controlled drug.
“This search and drug seizure is another example of our commitment to tackling illegal drugs in the area.”
