POLICE are warning young people in Co Derry to desist from anti-social behaviour or face criminal prosecution
PSNi Magherfelt say: “We are aware of ongoing concerns regarding anti-social behaviour in the Crawfordsburn and Tamney Crescent areas of Maghera.
“We will do our utmost to detect and deter this type of activity but those who are involved in this activity also have to understand the consequences of antisocial behaviour, the effect it can have on other people and how this and other criminal behaviour can affect their opportunities later on in life.
“We would also ask parents to be aware of where their kids are gathering as many come from other neighbourhoods and are getting involved in anti-social behaviour, causing distress to local residents.
“Parents are asked to ensure their children are not involved in anti-social behaviour.
“Police need the help of the local community to identify who is responsible.
“Anyone who has any information regarding antisocial behaviour or criminal damage in the area is asked to contact police on 101.
“Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
