A 32-year-old man arrested in Derry by police investigating a spate of paramilitary-style shootings in the city has been released unconditionally.
The man was arrested on the cityside yesterday morning and taken to the serious crime suite at Antrim police station for questioning.
A PSNI spokesperson confirmed the man was released this afternoon.
The arrest followed three so-called “punishment” shootings in the city in four weeks.
On 10 March, a man was shot both legs after two men forced their way into a house in Kerrigan Close in the Brandywell area.
On 30 March, a 20-year-old man was shot in one knee after a gang of three men burst into a house in Osborne Street in the Rosemount area.
The third victim, a man in his 40s, was shot in both legs in a house in Lisfannon Park in the Bogside area on Monday night of last week.
