Avid Derry City fans are arriving at the club’s social club for face-to-face talks with the club’s board of directors, manager and representatives of the players.
The Fans’ Forum comes only two days after Tuesday night’s 0-1 defeat by St Patrick’s -City’s eighth home defeat of the season and the Candy Stripes’ sixth defeat in game games.
In that game, Derry were completely outplayed by Pats in the first half but team boss Declan Devine was encouraged by a more spirited second half performance.
Chairperson, Philip O’Doherty, said the meeting, due to start round about now, was arranged some time ago and was not a reaction to the Brandywell club’s slump in form or the dramatic drop in attendances at the Brandywell.
It is difficult to say to say how tonight’s will go as in a phone-in on local radio station’s Drive 105 “Match Night Live” supporters the number calling for Devine’s two-year contract to be terminated largely in the minority, most concerned about team tactics and line-ups.
