Fr Eddie Gallagher confronted earlier in April by paedophile hunters outside Derry hotel
Fr Edward Gallagher, 58, the former Parish priest of Moville, Donegal, appeared before Derry Magistrates’ Court today.
Fr Gallagher, with an address at Orchard Park in Lifford, was originally charged with attempted sexual communication with a child between 2nd and 17th April.
He now faces further charges of possessing extreme pornographic images, making an indecent image of a child, possessing an indecent image of a child, distributing indecent images of a child, causing a child to engage in sexual activity, causing a child to watch a sexual activity and sexual communication with a child.
The offences are alleged to have occurred on the 17th of April.
Fr Gallagher is being held on remand in Maghaberry Prison near Lisburn.
He was remanded in custody to appear again on the 31st of July. There was no application for bail.
Fr Gallagher was suspended from his ministry in April.
