Rory Gallagher resigned as Derry senior football manager over ex-wife’s domestic abuse allegations
A plenary summons, outlining a claim for damages, was lodged with the High Court in recent days.
The Fermanagh man is seeking damages claiming the GAA prevented clubs from hiring him.
It follows an intervention by President Burns who contacted Naas GAA club who were considering hiring Gallagher as a coach.
Burns’ concerns centred around allegations of domestic abuse against Gallagher.
He has always denied the allegations.
The North’s Public Prosecution Service found Gallagher had no case to answer after two investigations.
Gallagher, who won an Ulster title with Derry in 2022, stood down from his role in 2023.
