A Tyrone author is set to launch a captivating new novel, Breaking The Habit, a story of self-discovery and transformation.

Niall (Barney) Conway, originally from Dunamanagh Village in North Tyrone and an alumnus of St Columb’s College, Derry, will unveil his latest work with a book launch in his hometown.

£1.00 from every copy of Breaking The Habit sold will be donated to Foyle Hospice.

The novel tells the story of Sarah Delargy, a 21-year-old who leaves a Carmelite convent in London seeking freedom and individuality. Feeling she can’t return to her home village of Ballycastle, Co Antrim; she thrusts herself into the bustling world of a new city, Manchester. With the help of her cousin, newfound friends and an emerging passion for art, Sarah slowly discovers the vibrancy and spontaneity of the secular world.

But life outside the convent isn’t without its struggles. From workplace challenges and complicated friendships, Sarah has her share of trials and tribulations in her new City. When a dark thread from her convent past resurfaces, she must reconcile her former self with the woman she is now becoming.

Breaking The Habit charts the next twelve months in Sarah’s life and is a moving story of self-discovery, loss and transformation. Sarah hopes to find redemption and fulfilment and finally put her convent past behind her – But can she?

Niall’s latest work comes on the back of his successful play, The Lucky Shirt, which was performed in Armagh over a number of weekends.

An informal book launch will take place at Clann na nGael clubrooms in Dunamanagh on Saturday, 21st June at 8 PM. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Breaking The Habit is available to purchase on Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Breaking-Habit-White-Niall-Conway/dp/1917728115/
