Former SDLP Leader and Foyle MP Colum Eastwood
Mr Eastwood, who has been working with the Inner City Trust to secure additional funding for regeneration, said that he could think of no better partner organisation to take this important work forward.
The Foyle MP said: “I’ve been working with the Inner City Trust for some time now to secure additional resources to help regenerate Derry.
“The North West Regeneration Fund is a good start and builds on some of the other work going on in the city to make public spaces more accessible by bringing historic sites back into public use.
“The word ‘transformative’ is casually thrown around for any pot of money that comes to the North West but this work, ably led by the Inner City Trust, actually has the potential to transform public spaces and do real, visible good for Derry.
“I’m looking forward to working with the team at the Inner City Trust who have an unmatched record in this area and I can’t wait to see some of the proposals that come forward.”
