BREAKING: Elderly couple injured after being knocked down in Donegal

An elderly couple have been rushed to hospital following a crash in Donegal.

The couple were out walking in Buncrana when they were struck by a car earlier today, Tuesday, June 10.

The accident happened just before noon on the town’s Main Street.

It is understood the couple were walking across the road when they were struck by a car at a junction close to the local AIB bank.

It is believed the couple and the driver of the car have been taken to Letterkenny University Hospital.

However, none of their injuries are understood to be life threatening.

The road has been closed as begin an investigation into the cause of the incident.
