Sadness as woman dies following collision in Donegal

A woman aged in her 70s has tragically lost her life in a collision in Donegal on Friday evening.

The collision involving a car and a van occurred at Bunlin Bridge on the Milford to Cranford at around 7.30pm.

The woman, who was driving the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her body has been removed to Letterkenny University Hospital for post-mortem examination.

The driver of the van, a man aged in his 50s, was taken to Letterkenny University Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The road will remain closed overnight pending examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to this incident to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 7.15pm and 7.45pm are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
