We are currently recruiting for a Head Chef to join our Kitchen team at The Tara Hotel, Killybegs, to lead our kitchen team and oversee all aspects of food preparation and execution.

The ideal candidate is passionate about culinary excellence, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has strong leadership and organisational skills.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Head Chef.

Key Responsibilities:

Menu Planning and Development: Create and update menus that reflect seasonality, customer preferences, and cost-effectiveness.

Kitchen Management: Supervise and coordinate all kitchen staff, ensuring smooth operation during service.

Food Preparation: Oversee the preparation, cooking, and presentation of all dishes to ensure quality and consistency.

Inventory and Cost Control: Manage inventory levels, source ingredients, and maintain cost control to meet budget goals.

Health and Safety: Enforce strict hygiene and safety standards in accordance with health department regulations.

Training and Development: Train, and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and professional growth.

Quality Control: Ensure that food leaves the kitchen in perfect condition and meets the restaurant’s standards every time.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in a high-volume kitchen.

Culinary degree or equivalent experience.

Deep knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen operations, and safety regulations.

Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Ability to work well under pressure and maintain high standards.

Preferred Skills:

Creativity in menu design and food presentation.

Familiarity with various cuisines and dietary needs (e.g., gluten-free, vegan).

Budgeting and financial acumen.

Proficiency with kitchen management software is a plus

Culinary degree or equivalent experience would be an advantage

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From €20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 38 – 45 per week

We are currently recruiting for a Breakfast Chef to join our Kitchen team at The Tara Hotel, Killybegs.

The Tara Hotel is a perfect blend of boutique and luxury hotel, providing unique style and exceptional service in comfortable surroundings.

Objective of the Role

Reporting to the Head Chef the Breakfast Chef will ensure the day-to-day operations of the breakfast service are carried out in line with departmental and hotel standards in order to provide 100% quality service to guests at all times.

All duties must be carried out in accordance with statutory health & safety requirements.

We are passionate about our culinary offering and are looking for someone who will strive for excellence with every dish.

Primary duties and responsibilities

In conjunction with the Kitchen and Restaurant team, to ensure the consistent smooth running of food service.
Maintain a high level of food quality.
To ensure effective stock control and prep for the breakfast service on a daily basis.
Replenish breakfast buffet during service.
To ensure that cleanliness and food safety is adhered at all times, HACCP Management.
Assist in various other Kitchens as required.
Liaise with Restaurant team on service in relation to guest requests, food quality and consistency.
Requirements:

Previous experience as a Hotel Breakfast Chef
Passion for producing high quality food and service
Ability to lead in a fast-paced environment, as part of a team.
HACCP or food safety management qualification
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Key Responsibilities:

To assist, motivate and lead the team, ensuring all aspects of tasks are being carried to the highest standard.
To ensure the team are supported and organised, and all tasks to be actioned and looked after in an efficient and timely manner.
Resolve any issues that may arise, such as customer complaints or internal issues with the team.
Motivate and encourage the team
To train all new and existing staff members on duties such as, Opening,
Closing, Menu, Floor training, Standards, Operation
Resolve any issues that may arise including staff issues such as cover for sick staff members.
Provide training and support to the team
Ensure the department is being run to Brand Standard
Planning/Actioning and Development, Running Events etc.
