The Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, Hilary Benn, made a special visit to Alchemy Technology Services’ newly opened headquarters at Ebrington Plaza to mark a major milestone for the company.

During the visit, he praised Alchemy’s ambitious growth plans, highlighting its role in driving innovation and job creation in the region.

The plan, covering the next three years, sets out key targets for the company, including doubling its revenue, increasing the headcount to over 250 employees, international market expansion, and the development of cutting-edge digital solutions for the insurance industry.

During his visit to Alchemy the Secretary of State co-hosted a Growth and Industrial Strategy Roundtable with Economy Minister, Dr Caoimhe Archibald MLA.

Also attending was Dr Aislinn Rice, representing the Industrial Strategy Advisory Council (ISAC), as well as business representative organisations and representatives from a variety of sectors.

Alchemy’s state-of-the-art HQ was officially opened this week by the First and Deputy First Ministers, becoming the first tenant to take up residency at the new multi-million pound Ebrington Plaza site.

Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, Hilary Benn, said: “I’m delighted to have had the chance to tour the newly-opened Alchemy offices, which are a fantastic testament to the economic regeneration of this part of Derry, and to the local skilled workforce.

“Growth is the UK Government’s number one mission, and our new Industrial Strategy is central to that. It aims to encourage growth in Northern Ireland by taking advantage of its unique strengths and great potential.

“The UK Government will continue to work alongside the Northern Ireland Executive to support growth right across Northern Ireland.”

John Harkin, Founder and CEO of Alchemy, commented: “Having the Secretary of State visit our headquarters at this pivotal moment highlights the significance of our continued growth.

“This strategy marks the next phase in accelerating our journey, reinforcing our commitment to innovation, talent development, and industry transformation. We are proud to contribute to the local economy while expanding our global impact.”

Due to unprecedented demand from clients and to support rapid growth, Alchemy have been continuing to recruit experienced technical and business analysts to join the team.

Alchemy’s Graduate Programme continues its success into 2025, with plans for further growth. The programme provides expert training, globally recognised certifications, and dedicated mentorship to support career development.
